Vascular surgery is a specialty of surgery in which diseases of the blood vessels( arteries and veins,)are managed by medical therapy, minimally-invasive catheter procedures, and surgical reconstruction.

Dr Azam Jan was mentored in Aortic surgery by world renowned Dr H.Safi and his team in Houston texas,USA.Dr Safi himself a legendary surgeon, was trained by Dr. Michael E. DeBakey, and was an associate of  Dr. E. Stanley Crawford.He took aortic surgery to a level that was unprecedented before.Similarly the other aspects of vascular surgery were mastered at the Vascular department in West Virginia university where Dr Azam Jan worked for 5 years.

Dr Azam Jan follows the mission of Vascular Society which includes the following.Improve the diagnosis and management of patients with vascular disease.Clearly define and apply  the role of surgery, endovascular surgery, and medical management in the treatment and prevention of vascular disease .Promote and participate in clinical and basic research in vascular disease.Promote and participate the development and implementation of new technology for diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease
